FOXACOY IS ONE of the Society of Antique Modelers’ (SAM’s)
many special RC events. Along with 1/2A Texaco, it’s a good starting
place for a newcomer to Old-Timer building and flying.
Old-Timers
John Pond (1917-2001) was instrumental in forming much of what we
recognize today as the Old-Timer (OT) movement. He was either the
founder or a founding member of several organizations, which together
contribute to the preservation and reenactment of the early history of
model aviation.

Twin winter Old-Timer (OT)
contests are held each year in
mid-January. Both contests are
in warmer climates at opposite sides
of the country.
The relatively new Eastern event
was in Dade City, Florida. Barbara
Mulholland is a skilled OT RC ier
