Electronics 2003/12
THE NATIONALS, or Nats, encompasses a variety of events as
pilots compete in AMA and National Electric Aircraft Council
(NEAC) categories. This format allows someone to gain competitive
experience without breaking the bank. By carefully selecting
airplanes and setups, pilots can compete in several classes with the
same airframe.
Electrics - 2007/10
A special gift from Iraq
I’M GOING TO stray off topic a bit to
cover some things from a recent trip to the
Joe Nall Giant Scale Fly-In and touch on a
few interesting items: jets, big models, and
cool chargers. I can already tell there’s not
enough space!
Electrics-2007/12
A farewell to James Linder
The Weak Signals Toledo Show - 2012/08
The Weak Signals Show in Toledo,
Ohio, is now a memory, but the
motivation that comes from
attending such an event lasts a long time.
This month I’ll take a break from
some of the electronic stuff and review
the show. I know the Model Aviation
editors were there working hard, and
there are video interviews available on
YouTube.
Plane Talk: Helicopter Hobbies Quick QJ8 (EP-8v2SP) - 2007/11
I’LL START BY establishing my credentials. I’m not MA’s helicopter
expert; I’m the “electrics guy.” I was considered a full-scale helicopter
expert, but learning full scale was easier than learning RC helicopters.
Maybe the Army had a way of “motivating” us. I’m a novice
helicopter pilot in the RC world and have been flying coaxials and
a fixed-pitch Lite Machines Corona 120.
