THIS is the month when each year I happily report the happening of the Annual KRC Electric Fly in my column. Each reporting, it seems, brings "more and better," and over the years I've kinda used up all the superlatives I know to describe the meet, the people attending, and the planes they bring. I now feel as if I have no words to adequately convey the awe and impact of the Ninth Electric Fly held on September 17-18, 1988. Over the years, KRC had hosted the meet on the club field located in Hatfield, PA, and over the years the field became increasingly pressed to handle the growth. This year KRC arranged use of the much larger field of the nearby Buc-Le Aerosportsmen club in Quakertown.

THIS is the annual "tough column," 'cause it follows the November Nats issue which has no columns. Thus, I've had two months to accumulate things to write about, and there is more to offer than can fit into one column. I have to pick and choose what I think is best to include for now. Meets: There are a steadily growing number of Electric meets throughout the country, and this only further supports my statements about the ongoing growth of Electric in general. I am always anxious to support your meets, especially with announcements in this column. THE SECOND ANNUAL Dallas Electric Aircraft Fliers' (DEAF) All Electric Fun-Fly is scheduled for Saturday, October 1, 1988. Flying times are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Eastfield College in Mesquite, TX. For complete information contact Frank Korman, 5834 Goodwin, Dallas, TX 75206; telephone (214) 821-0390. Last year's meet attracted 13 participants and 50 aircraft, so I'd expect an even bigger turnout this year. Why? 'Cause Electric is growing rapidly, and this growth includes both numbers of meets and numbers at meets! To exemplify what I just said above, last weekend saw the First Annual Lehigh Valley (PA) RC Club Electric Fun-Fly go down in history as an amazing success. I'll have more details in the future, but for now here are some preliminaries:

TWO JUNE MEETS have been announced. First up is the seventh annual Lehigh Valley RC Society (LVRCS) Electric Fun Fly scheduled for June 18-19 at Easton, Pennsylvania. THIS MONTH I'll cover three meet announcements, April errata, understanding brushless motors and controllers, a prop mount suggestion, battery accessories, and more speed control information. The Fourth Annual Southeastern ElectriFly is scheduled for Saturday, June 4 near Dallas, Georgia. The meet is sponsored by the North Georgia Flying Circus club, and member Gene Norman wrote a nice letter telling all about it. The meet will feature Pylon racing, Climb and Glide, slow and fast flying competitions, plus open flying. Attendance has been growing at the rate of about 30% per year, and you can add to that.
