THERE'S NO SHORTAGE OF NEWS. The Dynaflite Mustang is finally finished, and I've had the pleasure of attending both the WRAM show in White Plains, New York, and the Weak Signals show in Toledo, Ohio. Add a few new and interesting manufacturers' products and Docu-Search to the goodie list, and I hope you'll find some entertainment in my column this month.

ORLANDO, FLORIDA, was the scene of the second annual International Modelers Show from April 30 through May 2. Photographs of a few quality airplanes on the show's static tables accompany this month's text. I'm sure you'll find them all as dazzling as I did. First place in Precision Scale, as well as Best of Show and the People's Choice awards, went to Ed Izzo and his superbly detailed Ryan NYP Spirit of St. Louis, which is powered by a nine-cylinder Technopower II radial engine.

AFTER A GREAT DEAL of consideration, damnation, and procrastination, a decision has finally been reached regarding the next just-for-the-fun-of-it, build-along Scale project. The ever-popular Piper J-3 Cub and North American P-51 Mustang have already been addressed, and there has been a rather large number of requests to handle a World War I aeroplane. Since this is my favorite aviation era, caving in was easy. WW I it is, but which subject?

THE LETTERS YOU'VE SENT regarding Docu-Search have been complimentary and encouraging-to say the least. It's quite gratifying to know that this service is indeed useful and it's doing so many of you so much good. Thanks to you, several helpful items on the Curtis Tanager were received and forwarded to R.C. Burnett. Dummy me, I omitted Mr. Burnett's address in my July column. Thank you for sending the material my way. In turn, Mr. Burnett's model should be well on its way by now.

I'LL OPEN this month's rambling by thanking friend and colleague Stan Alexander for sitting in for me and bringing you top-quality coverage of 1993's National Model Airplane Championships Scale events. I wish I could have been there, because I love the AMA Nationals, but previous business commitments prevented my attendance. Stan, thanks again, bud. I owe you one!
