youtu.be/JH473NG8NPc: ADOT members have spent decades showcasing RC flight demonstrations and static displays at airport air shows. These events paid off when the producers of the Thunder Over New Hampshire Air Show at Pease Air National Guard Base invited the ADOT team to perform RC model aircraft flight demonstrations for 28 minutes each day, right before the Blue Angels took to the sky to entertain audiences of nearly 80,000 people.

The 2026 AMA flying season is here, and the AMA District I Outreach Team (ADOT) is seeking enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about aeromodeling to join our team and participate in any of the following event types.

  • STEM school events: Help teachers engage with students on the principles of flight, model aircraft kit building, and learning to fly RC aircraft on simulators or a buddy box.
  • STEM expo events: Collaborate with us and organizations such as the FAA, Civil Air Patrol, and the Scouts to showcase to teachers and students how learning about AMA and aeromodeling might lead to STEM-related careers.
  • Airport air shows: Fly your favorite air show aircraft in a demonstration and/or buddy-box attendees with our trainer airplanes or flight simulators.
  • Club public events: Provide AMA’s logo shelter, flight simulators, buddy-box trainers, promotional handouts, and glider kits, and answer attendee questions about AMA benefits.
