MARK GROVES (Columbus, Ohio) found a great way to promote the hobby and RC flying in his neighborhood and community! He wrote:

I take my Model Aviation monthly magazines once I’ve read them and circulate them in my neighborhood, leaving issues in one or another of the neighborhood repositories. Here in my Central Ohio neighborhood, people have created little personal libraries, or “book nooks.” Folks leave books for others to take and read—no charge, no library cards. Most note, “Take one, leave one.”

What inspired me to commence this activity is that I wanted to promote the hobby that I so much enjoy and did not want to dispose in the trash the magazines that I read cover to cover each month. The quality of the magazine has grown over the years, and it is a worthy vehicle for communicating to others what model aviation is all about.

I suggested this activity to my clubmates and have heard that a few of them are doing the like.

I just wanted to share what to do to pay forward our passion for model aviation. It’s not a novel idea, but it’s something positive to do with old editions of our community-based organization’s publication.

The images are of one of my drop-off nooks. I have never found a copy of the magazine left behind, so someone is taking them home and reading them.
