STEPPING INTO THE ROLE OF
INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

I AM TRULY HONORED to have been named AMA’s interim executive director (ED). Having been a part of the AMA community for the past 25 years, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the growth and impact that this organization has had on model aviation enthusiasts across the country. Since 2016, I have been fortunate to collaborate with many talented individuals who share the same passion for our hobby, and I’ve had the privilege to serve as the leader of the Government Affairs department since 2018.
As I step into this new role as interim ED, I will also continue in my current position as senior director of Government Affairs. My career has been shaped by a commitment to advocate for our members, our community, and the hobby we all love. This new chapter allows me to broaden that mission, working to ensure that AMA continues to thrive and adapt to the evolving landscape of model aviation.
Although I am excited about the future, I’m also aware that there is much work ahead of us. AMA has faced challenges in the past, and, undoubtedly, we will face more as we move forward. I am confident that, together, we have the resilience and strength to overcome these challenges. Whether it is advocating for our freedom to fly, navigating regulatory issues, or enhancing our member services, there is no doubt that we have the passion and dedication to move AMA forward and ensure that our hobby continues to flourish.
While in this role, my focus will remain squarely on our members, the health of the hobby, and the needs of the AMA community. I am dedicated to making sure that AMA remains a strong voice for model aviation and that we continue to build a supportive, inclusive, and vibrant environment for all of our members, both new and seasoned. Together, we can meet the challenges ahead and strengthen AMA and the hobby.
I want to express my sincere gratitude to former ED, Chad Budreau, for his many years of exceptional service to AMA. Chad’s leadership has been truly invaluable, and we all wish him the best in his future endeavors. His contributions have left an indelible mark on our organization.
Thank you, all, for your continued support, and I look forward to working with each of you as we continue to grow and shape the future of model aviation. The journey ahead is bright, and I am excited to be a part of it with all of you.
Growing the Future of Model Aviation
Model aviation remains a vibrant hobby, and AMA is committed to ensuring its growth and success. By strengthening clubs and expanding our community, we can enhance member services, increase advocacy efforts, and inspire the next generation of hobbyists.
District III Associate Vice President (AVP) Mark Feist has taken the lead on a new initiative to tackle the challenges facing the hobby. Mark has worked with AMA leadership and staff to create the AMA Growth and Retention Plan.
This plan focuses on developing resources to support clubs in driving membership growth and retention. Exciting new assets will soon be shared with vice presidents, AVPs, AMA Leader Members, chartered club officers, and AMA members.
